‘My Garden Smiles’ is a beautiful poem written by the ‘Missile Man’, Shri APJ Abdul Kalam.
I recently stumbled across this text while I was searching for some poems to include in the book that I am authoring.
As a matter of fact, I have been fortunate to live in a house where a beautiful garden has been maintained, across generations, by elders in our family. This masterpiece by Kalam often reminds me of our garden. Anyone who has been visiting us or those who found their abode here would definitely admire the dazzling floral display, peeping out within the beautiful green leaves.
Similarly, when it comes to dressing up, I love to choose bright shades, especially for the Indian traditional attire. And to add to it, I love posing in such radiant attires, surrounded by the greenery in our garden. So when I found this black–magenta combination, with the treasured Madhubani art print dupatta, I could not resist my temptation to devoid myself of an attractive possession.
So after getting this tailor-made, I waited for an opportunity to don this combination. Of course, the wait was a bit too agonizing for me. And finally, I found the reason to celebrate.
On this Dusshera, I chose to dress up in the much-awaited combination for our festival rituals. And, I couldn’t have missed posing amidst the smiling garden of our house.
I feel grateful and blessed.
Happy Dusshera 2018.
